Legendary English footballer David Beckham was knighted on November 4 at Windsor Castle. King Charles III personally presented him with the honorary award. Sky News reported on the athlete's knighting ceremony and who supported him that day.

The footballer was honored with the title for his outstanding achievements in sports and charity. During the ceremony, he and the King of Great Britain had a brief but warm conversation.

Beckham later admitted that he cried when he first learned he would receive the honorary title.

"It's such a big moment for our family and it's so special," he said.

At the same time, the athlete joked that he wouldn't mind if his children now called him "Sir."

"I'm very proud to have such a special honour given to me. I grew up in a very humble background in the East End of London; always wanted to be a professional footballer; and then I'm stood here at Windsor Castle with the most important monarchy in the world," he told reporters.

Beckham arrived at the ceremony accompanied by his wife Victoria, who designed his suit especially for the occasion, as well as his parents, Ted and Sandra.

Victoria chose an elegant black dress from her own brand, while David looked impeccable in a classic ensemble with a touch of British refinement.

It is known that Beckham had already been included in the King's Birthday Honours list this June.

After retiring from football, Beckham became actively involved in charity work. He serves as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and leads initiatives supporting children and youth around the world.
