Since September 2023, North Korea has supplied Russia with over 10,000 containers of ammunition or materials related to ammunition, according to an information bulletin from the United States Department of State regarding individuals and companies subject to sanctions.

Since the beginning of October 2023, Russia has been importing maritime containers of military cargo from North Korea through the Eastern Port for use in the war against Ukraine.

"Specifically, more than 7,400 containers of munitions and munitions-related materials have been delivered to Russia through the VOSTOCHNAYA STEVEDORING COMPANY LLC (VSC)-owned terminal at Vostochny Port. Containers of munitions and munitions-related materials have also been delivered to Russia through the nearby DUNAY PROBABLE NAVAL MISSILE FACILITY," as stated in the bulletin.

North Korea assisting Russia

In December of last year, the Coordinator of the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, stated that Russia had purchased ballistic missiles from North Korea. These have already been used for strikes against Ukraine.

In early January, there was information that the occupiers had struck Kharkiv with North Korean missiles. Later, the prosecutor's office confirmed this and provided details.

Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Military Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, revealed in an interview with RBC-Ukraine that North Korea actively supplied ammunition to Russia throughout the fall. According to intelligence estimates, the Russian army could have received approximately a million shells from North Korea.

Skibitskyi also disclosed that North Korea supplied Russia with one and a half million artillery ammunition. Most of it was manufactured in the second half of the 20th century.
