What happened

An armed clash took place near the Israeli consulate in Istanbul. According to Turkish media, three people were killed, and one person was injured.

Two attackers were shot during a gunfight with the police. The third was detained at the scene.

As the TV channel reports, there is a large police presence at the scene. Among the injured is one law enforcement officer. Details of his condition are not specified.

The situation was commented on by Türkiye Justice Minister Akın Gürlek.

"Regarding reports of shooting around Israel consulate in the Besiktas district of Istanbul, one deputy chief prosecutor and two public prosecutors have been assigned; our public prosecutors have launched an investigation," the statement says.

Meanwhile, tensions in the region are not decreasing. A senior official of Israel Ministry of Defense said the country is preparing strikes on Iran's energy facilities and is waiting only for approval from the United States.

According to him, attacks could have taken place within a week.

On Monday, April 6, Israel struck the largest petrochemical complex in Iran in Asaluyeh.

After the attack, the electricity supply to all petrochemical facilities in the area was cut off.
