On the night of July 26, Russia once again attacked Ukraine. The targets included energy facilities and a dormitory.

Around midnight, a large-scale air alert was announced in Ukraine due to the launch of a MiG-31K in Russia. Additionally, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the launch of kamikaze drones. Drone movements were observed in the north and south of Ukraine.

Russian attack

On the night of July 26, Russia launched 22 strike drones at Ukraine. The launches came from two directions - Cape Chauda in Crimea and Kursk.

Air defense forces shot down 20 Shahed drones. The air defense operated in four regions - Kherson, Sumy, Zhytomyr, and Chernihiv.

In addition, the occupiers struck Donetsk region with an "Iskander-M" ballistic missile.

Energy sector under attack

During the night the enemy attacked energy facilities in two regions of Ukraine. Russian drones struck Ukrenergo facilities in Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions.

Ukrenergo reported that in certain areas of the Zhytomyr region, consumers were temporarily without power. By morning, the power supply was almost restored, but repair work continues.

Regional consequences

Chernihiv region: Russians hit the city of Nizhyn with kamikaze drones. According to local authorities, an infrastructure facility and a residential dormitory were struck. There is one reported injury as a result of the attack.

Updated. The mayor of Nizhyn, Oleksandr Kodola, said that 15 people were wounded in the night shelling. Four people remain in the hospital. According to him, the dormitory was heavily damaged, there were 24 apartments where mostly people of retirement age lived.

Zhytomyr region: Civil infrastructure and energy facilities were damaged by Shahed debris. The Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration reported that there were no casualties from the night shelling.

Kyiv region: For the third consecutive night, invaders attacked the region with drones. The air alarm lasted for more than two hours. The air defense worked in Kyiv region. There were no hits on residential or critical infrastructure facilities.

Donetsk region: The Russian army shelled the city of Kramatorsk, targeting an industrial zone. A fire broke out at one of the enterprises as a result of the attack. There were no casualties.

Russia also attacked Ukraine with drones the previous night. An infrastructure facility was damaged in the Zhytomyr region. Furthermore, the Russians once again attacked the Izmail district of the Odesa region.

In Romania, near the border with Ukraine, an air alert was announced due to the night attack. Later, Romania reported that Shahed debris was found on its territory.
