Blackouts hit as Russia targets Kremenchuk and Lubny in massive strike

At night, Russian troops attacked two districts of the Poltava region with drones and missiles. The strikes and falling debris caused large-scale power outages, Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Kohut, and Mayor of Kremenchuk, Vitalii Maletskyi, report.
According to Kohut, as a result of the strikes and falling debris in the Kremenchuk and Lubny districts, administrative buildings of local energy sector enterprises were damaged.
“In the Lubny district, 1,471 households and 119 business subscribers were left without electricity due to the attack. Emergency services and energy workers are working to deal with the consequences. Fortunately, there were no casualties,” Kohut noted.
Kremenchuk mayor Vitalii Maletskyi published photos of a fire in the city following the enemy strikes.

Attack on Poltava region
On the night of August 19, Russian forces carried out a massive strike on the Poltava region.
First, the districts of Lubny and Kremenchuk were attacked with strike drones. In Lubny, at least 30 explosions were reported.
At 3:30 a.m., Russian troops hit Kremenchuk with Iskander-M ballistic missiles.
Later, Tu-95 strategic bombers launched a group of cruise missiles at the Kremenchuk area. Around 5:25 a.m. local time, a series of powerful explosions rocked the city, with reports of air defense activity.
