Shelling of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region: Fire broke out, casualties reported
Russian forces have delivered two strikes on Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. As a result of the shelling, there are casualties, according to the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin.
"Pokrovsk is under enemy fire again. Overnight, the Russian army shelled the city twice, hitting the administrative building. Garages and cars are on fire," said Filashkin.
According to him, there is no information about people being under the rubble, but there are casualties from the shelling.
He also added that the exact consequences of the strikes are being determined.
Shelling of Pokrovsk
On January 1, the Russian army launched a missile strike on Pokrovsk. A 9-year-old girl was injured as a result of the shelling. Later, the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office clarified that a 70-year-old woman also sustained injuries.
Additionally, on November 30, the Russian military conducted a massive strike simultaneously on three cities in the Donetsk region – Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Novogrodivka. Ten people were injured, including four children.
In Pokrovsk, specifically, five people were injured, including three children aged 13, 16, and a 6-month-old baby who was successfully rescued.
