Shelling of Kyiv: Two people wounded, consequences are being eliminated
During a heavy overnight bombardment on September 2, two people were injured in Kyiv. The aftermath of the attack is being addressed, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA).
"As a result of the missile strike, two people were injured. One person has been hospitalized. All emergency services are working on-site. The aftermath of the attack is being addressed," KCMA said.
Massive shelling of Ukraine on September 2
Last night, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine using ballistic, cruise, and anti-aircraft guided missiles, as well as Shahed-type attack drones. A total of 35 missiles and 23 drones were recorded, including:
- 16 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;
- 14 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 4 S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles;
- 1 missile of an unidentified type;
- 23 Shahed-131/136 attack drones.
Air defense units, electronic warfare (EW) systems of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), and mobile fire groups were involved in repelling the attack. In total, the following were successfully destroyed:
- 9 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;
- 13 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 20 Shahed-131/136 attack drones.
One missile and three drones were lost from radar.
As reported by Refat Chubarov, the head of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis, a building of the Islamic Cultural Center was damaged in Kyiv as a result of the attack.
