In the Kupiansk direction, the shell shortage decreased by almost 2 times. Russians have started bringing attack aircraft to the front line, according to Illia Yevlash, head of the press service of the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In the Kupiansk direction, the Russians have been actively using guided bombs for a long time.

In addition, the enemy is using infantry, motorized rifle and airborne regiments, and various equipment to approach the main goal - the occupation of Kupiansk.

Yevlash notes that constant replenishment of Russian reserves is one of the main problems in the Kharkiv direction, some battalions are restored in 3 days.

"Due to the weather conditions, the Russian occupants have started actively using buggies to deliver assault units to the front," he says.

The ratio of artillery shells in the Kharkiv direction:

  • 2023 Ukraine: 1:12 Russian Federation;
  • 2024 Ukraine 1:7 Russian Federation.

According to Yevlash, the increase in shells was indeed felt at the front, there is almost no shortage at the moment, but the Ukrainian military has learned to shoot more accurately at the enemy.

"Part of the Russian reserve is being used to strengthen the border on the Russian side to prevent a repeat of last year's events with Shebekino," he says.

Fighting near Kupiansk

Volodymyr Fitio, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said that Russian occupation forces have no strategic success in eastern Ukraine. But the enemy is trying to advance, as evidenced by the amount of destroyed enemy equipment.

At the end of January, the head of the Kharkiv MA, Oleh Syniehubov, said that the Russian occupiers had resumed offensive operations in the Kupiansk direction. Fighting is taking place in the area of Synkivka and Tabaivka.

According to a representative of the Land Forces, the Kupiansk direction remains a priority for the enemy, and Russians are trying to continue their offensive near Synkivka and Tabaivka.
