On the Kupiansk front, the occupiers have intensified their offensive actions. Heavy fighting is taking place in the vicinity of the settlements of Synkivka and Tabaiivka, reports Oleg Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, during a televised marathon.

"Yes, indeed, our soldiers repelled about 13 enemy attacks. The intensity of offensive actions in this direction has resumed. We have two quite serious directions: Synkivka and Tabaiivka. There is another direction, a bit south of the city of Kupiansk, which is also quite challenging but fully under the control of our Armed Forces," he stated.

The head of the regional military administration does not rule out the possibility that the Russians may resume a broader offensive in the Kharkiv region. He emphasizes that local authorities and the military should be prepared for any scenarios.

According to Syniehubov, as a result of Russian shelling this month, 21 residents of the Kharkiv region, including a child, have been killed. In addition, about 180 people have been injured, including 20 children. According to the regional military administration, at least 200 houses in the Kharkiv region have been damaged due to the actions of the aggressors in January.

Situation in the Kharkiv region

Recall that the British publication The Telegraph claimed that the Russians could allegedly launch a "ground offensive" in the Kharkiv region on January 15 after mass shelling.

Local authorities and the military, however, note that active combat operations continue in this direction, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back the enemy. Also, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Syniehubov, stated that Russia does not have enough forces in the Belgorod region to repeat the offensive on Kharkiv.

Military experts point out that the focus has shifted to Lyman, but it is not ruled out that an offensive on Kupiansk may resume.

At the same time, according to the forecast of the General Staff of Estonia, Russia may attempt to attack the border of the Kharkiv region in the coming weeks.
