Russian forces attacked a civilian enterprise in Kharkiv with a strike drone last night. As a result of the enemy shelling, a large-scale fire broke out, states the spokesperson for the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office, Dmytro Chubenko.

"At 23:50 (on February 1), Russia launched a strike on a civilian enterprise in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv. Specifically, the attack hit an enterprise involved in garment production," he said.

As a result of the explosion following the enemy attack, a fire broke out, covering an area of about 2,000 square meters.

"As of now, there is no information about any injuries at the enterprise," the regional prosecutor's representative reported.

According to preliminary information, the Russian forces used a Shahed or Geran drone for the airstrike on Kharkiv.

"A criminal investigation has been opened into this war crime under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," Chubenko added.

The regional prosecutor's office also shared a video showing the aftermath of the drone strike on the Kharkiv enterprise last night.

In addition, footage of the fire being extinguished in Kharkiv was released by the State Emergency Service (SES).

The emergency services reported that at 01:27, the fire was localized, and efforts to extinguish it are still ongoing.

"Forty-five rescuers and eight units of SES equipment have been involved in dealing with the consequences of the enemy shelling. According to preliminary information, there are no reported casualties," the Service added.

The spokesperson for the Public Relations and Media Department of the Main Directorate of the SES in the Kharkiv Region, Yevhen Vasylenko, told Suspilne that the enemy hit a production and warehouse building, after which a large-scale fire broke out.

"Textile products and polyester raw materials are burning," he said.

The SES also noted that the rescuers were able to quickly stop the spread of the fire.

Earlier, it was reported that on the evening before, Russian forces launched several groups of kamikaze drones towards Ukraine for another airstrike. In the Kyiv region, in particular, air defense systems were active due to the detection of enemy drones.

Around midnight, in Kharkiv, amid the drone attack, an explosion was heard - it was a hit in the Slobidskyi district of the city.

It was also reported that Russian forces launched a Shahed drone strike on the Sadivska community near Sumy, resulting in damage to residential buildings.
