Shahed drones target Ukraine overnight: Most threats intercepted
In the early hours of December 3, Russia once again attacked Ukraine using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). As of now, air defense forces have managed to destroy 22 drones, the Ukrainian Air Force reports.
During the nighttime attack, the enemy launched 28 combat drones, including Shahed drones and others, from the directions of Russia's Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, Orel, and Millerovo.
To repel the attack, the following were involved:
- units of air defense missile forces and electronic warfare systems (EW);
- mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces.
As of 9:00 a.m. Kyiv time, the confirmed downing of 22 enemy drones was reported in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
One drone was reportedly lost in a specific location, and two more exited controlled airspace, heading towards Belarus and temporarily occupied territory.
"There were several hits on critical infrastructure in the Ternopil and Rivne regions," added the Air Force.
Ongoing strikes on Ukraine
Nearly every night, Russian terrorists shell Ukraine, creating significant risks for civilians and the country’s infrastructure. The enemy uses a wide range of weaponry for these attacks, from drones to missiles.
On the night of December 2, Russia launched 110 drones against Ukraine. At that time, air defense forces managed to destroy 52 UAVs, while 50 drones were reported lost in specific locations.
