Shahed drone attack hits Chernihivoblenergo power company, casualties reported

In Zhadove, Russian strike drones attacked vehicles of Chernihivoblenergo, resulting in one death and several injuries, according to Oleksandr Seliverstov, head of the Novhorod-Siverskyi District Military Administration.
On the evening of Friday, October 10, at around 10:20 p.m. Kyiv time, in the area of Zhadove in the Semenivka community, Russian forces carried out another crime against civilians. Preliminary reports indicate that the strike drones targeted Chernihivoblenergo vehicles that were on their route.
As a result of the attack, one person was killed and several others were injured. The injured were taken to a medical facility, where they are receiving all necessary medical care.
During the incident, two vehicles used to service the energy infrastructure were damaged.
Oleksandr Seliverstov emphasized that Russia continues to act as a terrorist state, deliberately putting civilian facilities and critical infrastructure workers at risk.
Investigators and law enforcement agencies have already launched an inquiry into the incident to establish all the details of the attack and hold those responsible accountable.
The attack once again confirms that the work of energy workers in the combat zone remains extremely dangerous.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine has identified 203 critically important facilities - including energy, gas, and water infrastructure - which the state plans to prioritize for protection with air defense systems to prevent large-scale consequences from potential Russian strikes.
On the night of October 10, Russian forces carried out a massive attack on Ukraine, with energy infrastructure being the primary target.
Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko reported that power was completely lost on the city’s left bank due to the strikes.
Due to damage to energy facilities in several regions of Ukraine, emergency power outage schedules have been implemented to maintain the operation of the energy system.
