Shahed attack on Kyiv region: Child injured and fire breaks out due to falling debris
In the Kyiv region, a child was injured after debris from shot-down Russian drones fell in a residential area. Additionally, a fire broke out, which has already been localized, reports the acting head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk.
The official clarified that a 2012-born boy was injured, suffering from a suspected concussion and a laceration on his thigh.
"He has been hospitalized, and the child is receiving all necessary medical assistance," said the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
A fire also broke out in a café-shop and an attached boiler house, covering an area of nearly 200 square meters.
"The fire has already been localized. The shockwave damaged the windows of a nearby building," the official stated on his Telegram channel.
He also urged residents of the Kyiv region to not ignore air raid sirens and remain in shelters until the all-clear is given.

As previously reported, Russian forces launched several groups of strike drones at Ukraine on the evening of January 16 for another airstrike.
At 10:45 p.m. Kyiv time, following the detection of enemy drones in the Kyiv region, air defense systems were activated. The regional authorities announced the lifting of the air alert around 12:30 a.m. Kyiv time on January 17.
Additionally, earlier in the day, debris from downed enemy drones fell in five districts of Kyiv. The local authorities informed that there were no casualties or fires, but a car and the facade of a building were damaged.
