The number of people injured in Kyiv has increased following a Russian drone attack on the capital overnight. More than ten people have been reported injured, according to the Facebook page of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).

"The number of injured in Kyiv has risen to 11, including two children!" the SES wrote in a social media post.

It is worth noting that earlier, emergency responders reported seven injured in the capital as a result of the enemy attack using kamikaze drones.

The State Emergency Service also reported that overnight response efforts were carried out in Kyiv’s Sviatoshynskyi, Obolonskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts. Additionally, emergency crews released a video from the scene.

What is known about the aftermath of the drone attack

As of 3 a.m., the State Emergency Service (SES) reported that seven people were injured in Kyiv as a result of the drone strike.

Earlier, local authorities had reported four injured, including two children. Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, clarified that the children were 14 and 17 years old.

Fires and damage caused by falling debris from enemy UAVs were recorded in Kyiv’s Obolonskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts. The fires have since been extinguished.

  • In the Obolonskyi district, a fire broke out in an apartment on the top floor of a 12-story building. The flames spread to the roof, partially destroying its structure. At another location nearby, seven vehicles caught fire next to a residential building.
  • In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a fire occurred in three single-story private residential houses.
  • In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a tree caught fire, and an electric pole and a section of the road beneath a railway bridge were damaged.
