Seven more Ukrainian children who lived in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region have been returned home, according to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.
"Sharing another joyful news - seven more children have been returned from the still-occupied communities of Kherson region," he said.
According to him, three boys and four girls have returned to the territory of Ukraine.
"The children are between 4 months and 13 years old. They have overcome a long and difficult journey. The main thing is that the children are now safe and receive all the necessary assistance," Prokudin noted.
Ukraine returns children home
The issue of returning Ukrainian children illegally deported by Russia remains one of the most pressing and painful. According to Ukrainian authorities, more than 19,000 children were forcibly taken from Ukraine to Russia.
The government is making every effort to bring the children back home. A special working group has been created to coordinate actions on this issue. The Office of the Ukrainian Ombudsman for Human Rights is actively working, cooperating with international organizations such as UNICEF.
In April, Qatar helped Ukraine return four groups of children home.
Additionally, Ukraine recently returned 13 more children along with their families from territories temporarily occupied by Russia.
