US Senator assesses the probability of transferring ATACMS missiles to Ukraine
The probability of transferring long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine from the United States is high. Legislators continue to pressure the administration of President Joe Biden, stated Republican Senator Jim Risch in an interview with Voice of America.
"I think the possibility is quite high. From the very beginning, I said, 'Give Ukraine everything that shoots, as long as it's not nuclear weapons. Any other weapon we have should be available to the Ukrainians. Whether it's F-16 fighters or ATACMS missiles, everything we have," Risch said.
According to the senator, American legislators have "stepped up" and continue to exert pressure on the Biden administration.
ATACMS long-range missiles
Last year, Ukrainian officials began urging the United States to transfer long-range ATACMS missiles. With their help, our soldiers would be able to strike enemy rear areas. Additionally, our country already has HIMARS multiple rocket launcher systems for using such weapons.
For a long time, the United States rejected Ukraine's requests, and only recently President Joe Biden did confirm that the United States had begun considering the transfer of the aforementioned missiles to our soldiers.
Meanwhile, the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs has endorsed a resolution calling on the White House administration to transfer ATACMS missiles to Ukraine.
