Self-proclaimed president of Belarus invited Orban to visit his country
Self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, extended an invitation to the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, to visit his country, according to AP.
According to the publication, Lukashenko extended the invitation to Orban through Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Peter Szijjarto, who recently visited Minsk.
The Belarusian dictator claimed his readiness for dialogue with European countries and invited Orban for discussions on significant matters.
Hungary's reaction
The head of the press service of the Hungarian Prime Minister, Bertalan Havashi, stated that Orban would consider the invitation after returning from the EU summit in Brussels.
Orban-Putin meeting
On October 17, Orban met with the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin during the "One Belt, One Road" forum in Beijing. They reaffirmed their commitment to bilateral relations in the context of the war against Ukraine.
During the meeting, Orban referred to Russia's war against Ukraine as a military operation and shook hands with the dictator.
Additionally, Orban's meeting with Putin raised concerns in the United States. It also sparked worries regarding NATO's security among its members.
