The Alfa Special Operations Center of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) became the leader among all Defense Forces units in terms of the number of enemy fixed-wing drones destroyed in 2025, according to the press service of the SBU.

As noted by the SBU, during 2025, Alfa operatives neutralized 2,220 Russian drones. This is a record figure, including both kamikaze attack drones and reconnaissance devices.

The list of neutralized equipment included:

Strike UAVs: Shaheds, Gerans, Lancets, Molniyas, Italmas;
Reconnaissance UAVs: Orlans, Zala, Merlins, Skats, and others.

Destruction of high-value targets

The SBU noted that Alfa operators also successfully hunted high-value targets — long-endurance strike‑reconnaissance drones of the Orion type.

The cost of one such UAV exceeds $5 million.

The systematic interception of these reconnaissance platforms significantly reduces Russia’s ability to carry out precision strikes on critical infrastructure and the positions of Ukrainian defenders.

Ukrainian air defense on the night of February 3

On the night of February 3, Russian forces launched a massive strike on Ukraine.

The enemy, in particular, used 450 attack drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and others, in the attack.

Ukrainian forces managed to shoot down 412 attack drones of various types.
