The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Ukrainian Defense Forces, attacked the Morozovsk airfield in Russia. At least 6 enemy aircraft were destroyed and another 8 seriously damaged, according to RBC-Ukraine's sources.

As the sources note, the Su-27 and Su-34 front-line bombers were based at the airfield. These are the planes Russia uses to drop anti-aircraft missiles on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukrainian front-line cities.

"The results of the joint special operation are impressive - at least 6 military aircraft of the Russian Federation were destroyed, and another 8 were significantly damaged," the source says.

In addition to equipment, the personnel of the Russian army also suffered losses. About 20 occupiers were killed or wounded.

"This is an important special operation that will significantly reduce the combat potential of the Rashists," the source notes.

Background

Russia complained about a mass drone attack. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Russian air defense system allegedly managed to shoot down 53 drones in different regions of the country. The peculiarity of this attack was that among the attacked cities were those where airfields were located. Namely: Morozovsk in the Rostov region, Yeysk in the Krasnodar region, and Engels in the Saratov region.

The first explosions were heard in Morozovsk, where the airfield is based, from where tactical bombers carrying aerial bombs take off. There was the largest drone raid - according to Russian data, they say, 44 drones were shot down there. At the same time, the local authorities reported damage to the electrical substation.

The Russian authorities also confirmed the attack on Yeysk, where the military airfield is also located. At least 10 explosions were reported in the city. In addition, the sound of automatic rounds was heard there in the area of the local airfield and the military town.

Eyewitnesses also reported explosions in Engels, where the base of strategic bombers is located. Local authorities claim that there were no hits. Eyewitnesses say that around 5 a.m. they heard the sounds of shooting, then a powerful explosion rang out. Then the siren turned on.
