Security assurances and peace summit. Zelenskyy reveals his talk with Spanish Prime Minister
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meaningful conversation with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. In particular, they discussed further support.
"We discussed Ukraine's need to strengthen its air defense. We also focused on bilateral cooperation and cooperation at the EU level. We agreed to accelerate work on the preparation of a bilateral security agreement between Ukraine and Spain," Zelenskyy said.
In addition, the Head of State noted that during the conversation, they paid special attention to the upcoming first Global Peace Summit in Switzerland and agreed to work together to encourage more countries of the Global South to participate in it.
"I am grateful to Spain for the unwavering support of our country and people, which gives us a common and firm belief that life will prevail in Ukraine and throughout our Europe," the President concluded.
Tanks from Spain
Recently, Spain approved the supply of a new batch of tanks to Ukraine. We are talking about 20 Leopard 2A4s.
Last summer, Spain already sent a batch of Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine.
