Secret tech transfer to China and Russia: France accuses four people
In France, four people have been accused of transferring secret technologies to Russia and China. This is prohibited by Western sanctions, according to The Local.
According to the publication's sources, two French and two Chinese individuals have been accused. Among them are two top managers from the high-tech company Ommic, which is engaged in semiconductor manufacturing. The company is located near Paris and employs around 100 people.
In 2018, 63-year-old Chinese citizen Ruoadan Z. became the president of the company.
The source revealed that the managing director of Omnic, Mark R., and the Chinese manager of the company are suspected of providing information to a foreign state that contradicts France's national interests. They are accused of deliberately bypassing regulations to supply chips and information about secret technologies to China and Russia, particularly related to the know-how used to enhance semiconductor efficiency.
Foreign technologies in Russian weaponry
Russian occupiers use technologies from foreign companies in the production of their weaponry.
Ukraine has repeatedly discovered foreign components in Russian missiles and drones. For example, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned that technologies from Western countries were found in one of the missiles used by the occupiers to strike Kryvyi Rih.
