Secret Service steps up security around Trump's residence
Security measures have been tightened around the Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, which belongs to former US President Donald Trump, reports CNN.
Palm Beach city officials said the security measures would lead to additional road closures at least until Election Day.
In addition, city officials claim that the increased security measures were ordered by the US Secret Service, not local law enforcement or officials.
The tightening of measures follows an assassination attempt on Trump last Saturday at a rally in Pennsylvania.
New threats to Trump
Yesterday, July 19, the United States arrested a man who threatened to kill Trump and his running mate, Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance, in writing. Law enforcement officials said that there were also threats of bodily harm to family members.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that US President Joe Biden, in his address to the nation on the occasion of the assassination attempt on Trump, said that the Republican candidate would receive increased security. Biden instructed the Secret Service to provide the politician with all the necessary resources to ensure his safety.
