Secret Epstein files: NYT reveals new details on Trump’s role in scandal

In 3 million pages of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, US President Donald Trump is mentioned more than 38,000 times across 5,300 files. At the same time, the documents contain no information suggesting any wrongdoing on his part, according to The New York Times.
The outlet that examined the released documents notes that they contain numerous mentions of Trump, who was a close friend of Epstein until the early 2000s.
The US President denies any wrongdoing related to Epstein. At the same time, the country’s Deputy Attorney General, Todd Blanche, said the files provide no grounds for an investigation into Trump.
Mentions of Trump in thousands of documents
The New York Times found more than 5,300 files in the new Epstein files that mention Donald Trump over 38,000 times, as well as references to his wife Melania and the Mar-a-Lago club in Florida.
Many of the released documents are news clippings and publicly available materials from Epstein’s emails. They also show that Epstein closely monitored Trump’s life after his political rise and sought ways to use it for his own purposes.
Additionally, the files include notes and transcripts of investigative interviews with Epstein’s victims. Some of the victims mention interactions with Trump during meetings at Mar-a-Lago or Epstein’s properties, but they do not indicate any wrongdoing by the current US president.
Epstein case
On December 10, a US court ruled to allow the release of materials from the investigation into sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein. The disclosure became possible following the adoption of a law on the transparency of Epstein files.
Epstein died in federal custody in 2019; the official cause was ruled a suicide. However, the circumstances of his death remain mysterious, with some suggesting he may have been killed due to dangerous knowledge he possessed.
On December 19, the US Department of Justice began publishing a new large batch of files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
RBC-Ukraine previously reported that the new Epstein materials mention Donald Trump. The documents refer to his acquaintance with a 14-year-old girl at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
