A second wave of mandatory child evacuation has begun in the Dnipropetrovsk region due to the growing threat of Russian shellings. Families from three frontline communities are being evacuated, Serhii Lysak, Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reports.

Due to the security situation in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a second wave of mandatory evacuation has been introduced. This time from the Synelnykove district. In particular, this time the mandatory evacuation applies to:

  • five frontline settlements of the Mezhova community,
  • seven - of the Velykomykhailivka community,
  • two - of the Malomykhailivka community.

"I have already signed the relevant order. Children must leave with their parents or legal guardians. After all, kids don't belong under guided bombs and drones," Lysak emphasized.

The Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration also noted that social services are now visiting every home where such families live.

"Other, calmer districts of our region are ready to receive people. Places for them have been prepared. But residents themselves are free to choose in which region of the country they want to settle," Lysak added.

At the same time, according to the Head of the Regional Military Administration, there is already a well-established mechanism: the State Emergency Service, police, humanitarian organizations, district leadership, and local self-government.

"The mandatory evacuation will last for two months," Lysak noted.

Mandatory evacuation of children

In the Donetsk region, the evacuation of residents continues due to intensified fighting. RBC-Ukraine reported that evacuation trains are transporting locals to safer regions of Ukraine.

Last month in the Donetsk region, local authorities also expanded the evacuation zone for families with children. That time it concerned two communities.

At the end of March, the mandatory evacuation zone in the region was also broadened.
