In the Donetsk region, the local authorities have expanded the evacuation zone for families with children. This applies specifically to the Druzhkivka and Lyman communities, this was announced by the head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, during a national telethon live broadcast.

A decision was made to expand the evacuation not only from the Druzhkivka community, specifically Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, but also from the Lyman community and many other settlements close to the front line, which are shelled by the enemy almost daily. Why was this decision made? Because a large number of people live there, and in some settlements, there are children," noted Filashkin.

According to him, the humanitarian situation in the frontline communities is very difficult. Constant shelling targets towns such as Kostiantynivka, Myrnohrad, Druzhkivka, Pokrovsk, and other settlements near the front line.

"A decision was made to expand the mandatory evacuation zone for families with children: in Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka alone, there are currently about 40 children. The situation in the region is the most difficult – in just one day, the enemy shelled settlements in the region 2,631 times," added the head of the regional administration.

He also mentioned that the evacuation is being assisted by the Bili Yanholy (White Angels) police units and the Phoenix State Emergency Service contractors. In just one day, 240 people, including 45 children, were evacuated from towns near the front line.

Evacuation from the Donetsk region

It is important to note that evacuation efforts continue in the Donetsk region due to the intensification of combat actions. Evacuation trains are transporting local residents to safer regions of Ukraine.

In particular, in February, a mandatory evacuation was announced for children and their parents from 12 settlements in the Shakhivka community in the Donetsk region.

At the end of March, the zone for mandatory evacuation in the region was also expanded.
