Scholz vows more arms for Ukraine after talks with Tusk and Macron
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, speaking at a press conference after a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Berlin today, announced enhanced support for Ukraine.
Scholz has stated that the countries will purchase more weapons for Ukraine on the global market. The Chancellor also emphasizes that they, along with their partners, will ramp up weapon production in Ukraine. He has noted that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin should know that support for Ukraine in Europe will not diminish, and they will use frozen Russian assets to financially support Ukraine.
The Weimar Triangle is an informal international alliance between Germany, Poland, and France, established in 1991. Within the group, there are numerous meetings of foreign ministers and heads of state. Discussions at summits often involve matters concerning Ukraine.
It's worth mentioning that initiatives have been proposed at various times to include Ukraine in the respective alliance, thus transforming the triangle into a quadrangle.
RBC-Ukraine reported that French President Emmanuel Macron and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk would travel to Berlin on March 15 to meet with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
