Scandinavian Airlines abandoned Nesquik because of Russia's invasion of Ukraine
The Scandinavian airline SAS has removed Nesquik drinks from its menu. This is due to Nestlè's inclusion in the list of sponsors of the war in Ukraine, according to TV2.
The source received an email in which the airline confirmed its decision.
"We can confirm that we have excluded Nesquik from the onboard range due to the addition of Nestlè to the Ukrainian list of war sponsors," SAS wrote.
The company also refused to serve Pepsi drinks.
SAS stated that it is communicating with suppliers and finding out their intentions.
"In addition, we are in dialogue with a small group of suppliers to understand their plans for the future," the airline wrote.
International sponsors of war
The list of "International Sponsors of War" is a tool to put pressure on companies that continue to do business with Russia. It is intended to encourage these companies to stop cooperating with Russia and thereby reduce its financial and technological support. The list is maintained by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP).
Thus, the NACP added Nestlè to the list of war sponsors because of its work in Russia. As of early 2022, the company had 7 factories in Russia.
The list also includes the German manufacturer of building materials Knauf. Not only has it not left the Russian market, but it also maintains friendly relations with the authorities.
