Ukrainian interceptor drones are becoming increasingly effective at shooting down Russian jet targets. According to President Zelenskyy, this is the second success by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) military counterintelligence unit in a single day.
The president says this is already the second successful use of the new Ukrainian interceptor drone today. Earlier in the day, SBU used it to shoot down another hostile target.
This time, SBU military counterintelligence officers used it to strike a Russian jet-powered Geran-5 drone.
Today, Zelenskyy also released the first footage showing Ukrainian interceptors destroying jet-powered Shahed drones.
The head of state said he heard a report from SBU chief Oleksandr Poklad that military counterintelligence has already achieved good results in countering such drones.
A few days ago, President Zelenskyy also confirmed successful tests of two domestically produced interceptors that shot down a Russian jet-powered Shahed. The president thanked the developers and stressed that production of such systems would be scaled up to provide Ukraine with greater protection ahead of winter.
