Operators of the Unmanned Systems Forces and other Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Grushovaya oil depot in Novorossiysk on June 8.

The Grushovaya oil depot is one of Russia’s key oil infrastructure facilities in the south of the country, located near Novorossiysk in the Krasnodar region.

It is part of the Sheskharis transshipment complex, which serves as the terminus for major oil pipelines and handles the receipt, storage, and export of oil through the port of Novorossiysk.

The oil depot is considered strategic for the export of Russian oil via the Black Sea.

Drone attacks on Russia's energy infrastructure

Unmanned aerial vehicle units and other Ukrainian forces regularly strike Russia’s oil and gas sector. For example, two large oil depots in Crimea, an FSB command post, and other Russian military facilities were recently hit.

Also today, there were reports of another drone strike on the Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery, located in the Samara region. A major fire broke out at the facility.

Ukrainian strikes on the Russian city of Tuapse, which also houses an oil depot, are no less frequent. People were recently evacuated from there due to the smoke caused by the fires.
