All those responsible for war crimes in Bucha and other parts of Ukraine must be held accountable, said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte during a press conference.

Rutte emphasized that those responsible for Bucha and other crimes must face justice, stressing that this should be a key priority at the moment.

He also stressed that all attention should now be focused on ending the war in Ukraine in such a way that Putin never again tries to seize a single kilometre of Ukraine or parts of major countries. He added that a ceasefire and a special peace agreement in Ukraine must be lasting and stable.

Liberation of Bucha

On March 31, Ukraine marked the anniversary of Bucha’s liberation. A Town became a symbol of Russian war crimes and the resilience of the Ukrainian people. On this day in 2022, Ukraine’s Defense Forces completed an operation to free the city from the Russian forces.

After the Russian army retreated, the world witnessed the horrific aftermath of their occupation: mass graves, civilians killed in the streets, and tortured victims with bound hands.

The tragedy of Bucha shocked the international community and became one of the most critical pieces of evidence of Russian military crimes in Ukraine.

Recently, Ukraine’s National Police announced charges against the commander of Russian paratroopers involved in executing civilians at the intersection of Vokzalna and Yablunska streets in Bucha between March 5 and 9, 2022.
