On Saturday, January 3, Russian forces struck a district in Kherson, killing two people, according to the Telegram account of Kherson OVA head Oleksandr Prokudin.

"In the morning, the Russians killed two people in Kherson," Prokudin said.

According to him, a man and a woman received fatal injuries in the Dnipro district of the city. Their identities are currently being established.

Attacks across Ukraine

On the night of January 3, Russia attacked Ukraine with 95 strike drones from various directions. Ukrainian air defense forces managed to shoot down 80 enemy drones.

There were confirmed hits by 15 strike drones at eight locations, and debris from downed drones fell at two additional sites.

Russian forces carried out a massive Shahed drone attack on critical infrastructure in Mykolaiv region. According to reports, part of the settlements in Mykolaiv district lost power, and energy crews have been working since the night to restore electricity.

On January 2, Russian occupiers struck the center of Kharkiv with two missiles. According to the Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office, these were Iskander ballistic missiles.

Initially, reports stated the missiles hit a residential high-rise, destroying it completely. Later, it was clarified that a five-story building and part of the entrance of a four-story apartment building were damaged.

The attack resulted in fatalities and more than 30 people injured.
