On the night of January 3, Russian forces carried out a massive attack using Shahed-type drones against critical infrastructure in the Mykolaiv region, Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, stated.

According to him, the enemy attack caused power outages in parts of populated areas of Mykolaiv district. Energy workers have been restoring electricity since the night.

According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

At the same time, around 08:20 a.m. local time, Kim clarified that an emergency situation occurred in the city that was not related to attack.

“Water is currently being supplied to the city at reduced pressure. Restoration work is underway, and the volume of water will be gradually increased. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the day,” he said.

Attack on Mykolaiv

On the night of December 26, Russian forces attacked Mykolaiv and its suburbs using several strike drones, reportedly of the Molniya type. As a result of the attack, part of Mykolaiv district was left without electricity.

Earlier, on December 21, the Russian forces carried out strikes using guided aerial bombs on the Snihurivka community in Mykolaiv region. The attack damaged a warehouse containing humanitarian aid, and a man was injured.

Another airstrike was carried out by Russian forces on December 20 in the Bashtanka district of Mykolaiv region. According to preliminary data, guided aerial bombs were used, and a local resident was injured.
