Russian forces attacked several settlements in Ukraine’s Donetsk region on May 5, killing one person and injuring six others, according to Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.

The attacks targeted the village of Novoeconomichne and the towns of Myrnohrad and Novodonetske.

"Russian forces killed one person in Novoeconomichne, wounded three in Myrnohrad, and another three in Novodonetske," Filashkin said.

Among those injured in Novodonetske were a 2-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy.

In addition, local authorities have confirmed the deaths of five people killed in Russian attacks a day earlier.

Four civilians aged 47 to 68 were killed in the village of Roza, Pokrovsk community. Another person killed yesterday was a 40-year-old resident of Myrnohrad.

"I once again urge all civilians, especially parents with children: protect yourselves and your loved ones. Evacuate to safer regions of Ukraine," Filashkin appealed.

Ongoing attacks in Donetsk region

Russian troops continue to heavily bombard the settlements of the Donetsk region using a range of weapons.

On the night of May 4, Russia launched a massive drone attack on Sloviansk, hitting a construction facility with six Geran-2 drones.

Earlier, on April 26, Russian forces struck the city of Kostiantynivka nine times using KAB-250 aerial bombs and drones. Two men, aged 41 and 45, were killed and seven others injured.

Russian troops also targeted a convoy of vehicles evacuating civilians from a village near Kostiantynivka, deliberately targeting people. Several injuries were reported.

Earlier, a Russian aerial bomb hit a house in the village of Yarova, Lyman community. Two men, a father and son, were killed in the attack.
