On the southern front, Russian troops have gradually increased the intensity of combat operations over the past week, says Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.
According to him, the most tense situation remains in the Huliaipole sector, where the enemy is attempting to complete the tasks assigned by its command by the end of spring.
"We can draw certain conclusions about this week, and they indicate that almost every day, the enemy increased the number of combat clashes against us in the south. Over the past 24 hours, 52 combat clashes were recorded in the southern sectors," Voloshyn said.
The spokesperson added that the Russians have also increased their use of guided aerial bombs and are continuing active assaults in the areas of Vozdvyzhivka, Huliaipole, and Dobropillia.
Situation on the front
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently regaining the initiative on the front. In recent months, Ukrainian troops have achieved their greatest successes since the invasion of the Kursk region in August 2024.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Ukrainian troops are achieving their objectives in the border areas of the Sumy region.
Earlier, the Airborne Forces reported that Russia's immediate objective is to capture one of the two regional centers — Sumy or Kharkiv. Defense forces are already detecting enemy attempts to advance toward one of them.
