Russians sent prisoners to filtration camp in Belarus in 2022 – Media
Russia set up a filtration camp in Belarus following the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, where they transported Ukrainian prisoners, according to the Belarusian Investigative Center.
Journalists from the Belarusian Investigative Center spoke with Vladyslav Yahodynskyi, a resident of Orane village in the Kyiv region, who revealed that in 2022, Russians transported him and his brother to Belarus.
"I realized it when I was handed over to the border service. There were border guards, and I asked them where we were. They said, 'Belarus, Narowlia,'" Yahodynskyi said.
Ukrainian soldier Bohdan Lysenko, captured around the same time as the Yahodynskyi brothers, also confirmed being taken to the Belarusian town of Narowlia. According to Lysenko, they were held in a large collective farm, where there were not only military but also civilians. They were interrogated and beaten.
The camp was even featured on Russia’s NTV channel. However, it was stated that the video was filmed on the territory of Ukraine.
The Belarusian Investigative Center reported that the filtration camp in Narowlia was established on the premises of Prypiatsky Alliance, a company under the Belarusian Cooperative Union overseen by the Council of Ministers.
Belarusian support for Russia
Russia used the territory of Belarus to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, enabling Russian forces to seize parts of the Kyiv region.
Additionally, attacks on Ukrainian territory were launched from Belarus.
It has recently become known that Belarus may have assisted Russia in developing the Kedr medium-range ballistic missile, which was recently used to strike Dnipro.
