Strikes on Russian territory with long-range Western weapons
This week, the head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, and Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov have been meeting with representatives of President Joe Biden’s administration, seeking to persuade the United States to lift restrictions on the use of American weapons for strikes on Russian territory.
Umerov did not comment on the topic of permission to strike Russia following his meeting with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, and the Pentagon has also not commented on the matter.
Yesterday, on August 31, Umerov stated that the Biden administration is still considering his request to lift restrictions on Ukraine’s use of long-range weapons to strike deep into Russian territory.
