Russian forces attempted an unsuccessful assault on Ukrainian Defense Forces near Volodymyrivka, losing both equipment and manpower. Troops were eliminated with the help of the HIMARS rocket system, according to the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade on Facebook.
According to the brigade, five armored vehicles advanced from the direction of Novotoretsk and attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses near Volodymyrivka.
"However, this time the weather, which the occupiers clearly counted on, did not work in their favor. Three of their vehicles got stuck in the mud so badly that the troops had to climb out straight into the water," the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade reported.
While this was happening, Ukrainian artillery targeted the cluster of Russian troops, including with the help of HIMARS.
"The abandoned equipment was finished off by FPV and heavy bomber units, while neighboring units took on the remaining vehicles. As for the infantry, they ran off humming Kobzon’s songs," the defenders added ironically.
As a result of the failed assault on Volodymyrivka, Russian forces lost an armored personnel carrier, a motorcycle, and four soldiers. Another three were wounded.
Earlier, Ukrainian special forces carried out a successful operation in the Donetsk region, during which they eliminated several Russian soldiers and captured communication equipment and documents.
In early October, Special Operations Forces also released footage from Yampil, Donetsk region, showing how Ukrainian troops cleared out Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups that had tried to establish positions in the area.
