The Russians are actively attacking the Bytytskyi Starostat in the Sumy community. The area has been under strikes since the night: the enemy hit the territory with guided aerial bombs, strike drones, and in the morning of July 6 launched a missile strike, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, reports.

"Due to the UAV hits, a fire broke out in the residential sector. We are currently clarifying the consequences - whether there are any damages and casualties," Hryhorov wrote.

The Head of the Regional Military Administration reminded that Russian troops are deliberately terrorizing the border communities in the Sumy region. Hryhorov assured that the authorities are doing everything to overcome the consequences and preserve human lives.

Situation in Sumy region

The Sumy direction on the border with Russia remains one of the hottest. Russian forces are trying, at a maximum, to seize Sumy, and at a minimum, to reach a distance from which the city can be terrorized with artillery and drones.

According to the State Border Guard Service, Russian troops continue to send infantry within the Yunakivka and Khotyn communities of the Sumy region. Near these settlements, the Russians are trying to expand the entry zone. The enemy is operating in small assault groups and is suffering heavy losses.
