Russia launches airstrike on Sumy: Footage of attack's aftermath
Russian forces launched an airstrike on the city of Sumy on January 3. There were no killed victims; however, several people were injured, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reports.
The enemy launched an airstrike on the private sector in Sumy. According to preliminary information, there were no killed victims.
"Emergency and rescue operations are underway. The injured are receiving all necessary assistance, including medical care. The consequences of the Russian attack are still being clarified," the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine added that an enemy drone hit a two-story residential building, causing a fire on the first floor. An elderly couple lived in the house, but fortunately, no one was injured.
According to local authorities, on January 3, seven enemy drones were destroyed over the Sumy region. Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine's air defense forces have already downed 17 Russian drones over the region.
The Regional Military Administration also reported that a private house in the region was damaged due to debris from a Shahed drone. The injured are receiving assistance.
Drone attack on January 3
During the night of January 3, Russian forces again attacked Ukraine with drones. Among other targets, they sent UAVs to Kyiv. Drone debris fell in two districts of the capital - Holosiivskyi and Darnytskyi.
There were no significant damages in Kyiv, but a woman was injured and received burns, though she declined hospitalization.
In addition, Russian forces attacked the Kyiv region that night. Damages were reported in three districts. A cargo truck was damaged, and the driver was killed. Four other people were injured in the attack.
