Russians launch 19 drones at Ukraine: Air defense operation report
Russian forces launched 19 Shahed drones at Ukraine during the night of October 4, nine of which were shot down by air defenses, citing the Ukrainian Air Force.
"During the night of October 4, the enemy attacked critical infrastructure in Ukraine, launching 19 'Shahed' strike drones from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, and Cape Chauda regions," the report says.
Air defense response
According to the military, nine of the drones were shot down by air defenses in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, and Kherson regions.
"Seven enemy drones were likely lost due to electronic warfare (EW) countermeasures," the Air Force added.
Russian attack on Ukraine
On the night of October 4, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with drones. In Kyiv, during the air raid alert due to the drone threat, a series of explosions were heard. Air defenses were active in both the capital and its surrounding areas.
However, there were reports of damage and casualties. In Kyiv, a fire broke out in a residential building due to falling drone debris. In the Kirovohrad region, an administrative building on a company’s premises was damaged, and one person was injured.
