Fire breaks out in high-rise building in Kyiv due to Shahed debris falls
A fire broke out in a residential high-rise building in Kyiv last night amidst a drone attack. The fire may have been caused by debris from a downed aerial target, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
The incident occurred in the Darnytskyi district, where a fire was reported on the balcony of an apartment on the 8th floor of the building.
"Possibly due to the fall of drone debris. Units are heading to the scene," the mayor of Kyiv shared on his Telegram channel.
He added that, according to preliminary information, no one was injured.
Later, he clarified that during the interception of an enemy drone, "a plastic frame was blown out on the 8th floor of a 16-story building."
"There are no casualties. The fire was quickly extinguished," Vitali Klitschko added.
Shahed attack
Earlier, it was reported that on the evening of October 3, combat operations began in the Kyiv region to repel a kamikaze drone attack launched by Russians as part of another airstrike on Ukraine.
Additionally, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv. Due to the Shahed drones, air defense systems were activated, and a series of explosions were heard. By around 12:15 a.m., the alert in the capital was lifted.
