Russian occupiers launched 20 Shahed drones at Ukraine on the night of August 23. Ukrainian air defenses managed to shoot down 11 of them, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

Russians attacked Ukraine with Shahed-136/131 drones from the southeast direction overnight. A total of up to 20 combat drones were launched from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Chauda (Crimea).

In collaboration with air defense systems and other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, the Ukrainian Air Force successfully destroyed 11 enemy drones, with 9 of them downed in the Odesa region and 2 within the borders of the Zaporizhzhia region.

Nighttime shelling of Ukraine

Over the past few months, Russian forces have intensified their attacks on Ukraine using missiles and drones, targeting both civilian infrastructure and military facilities, including airports and ports.

This night, occupiers struck grain storage facilities and a production-loading complex in the Odesa region with drones. A fire broke out in the storage facilities, but fortunately, there were no casualties reported.
