A Russian-guided FAB-500 aerial bomb was discovered in Sumy on the morning of September 26. It did not detonate upon impact, according to the Sumy Regional Military Administration (RMA).

The enemy bomb was found near the Ivan Kharytonenko Bridge in Sumy. Bomb disposal experts and other necessary services were called to the scene.

Later, the Sumy RMA announced that the threat posed by the unexploded Russian bomb had been neutralized, thanks to the prompt actions of the State Emergency Service's bomb disposal experts and local police.

Local authorities had warned that vehicle and pedestrian traffic across the Ivan Kharytonenko bridge, in the direction of Heroiv Krut and Troitska, was temporarily halted. As of 8:00 AM, traffic in Sumy had been restored.

Overnight attack

During the night, Russian occupiers launched drone attacks on Ukraine. The invaders sent Shahed drones toward Kyiv. According to Kyiv Military Administration (KMA) reports, more than 15 enemy drones were heading for the capital, with air defense forces intercepting around 10 of them.

Debris from downed drones fell in Kyiv. In the Pechersk district, a building caught fire, and a gas pipe was damaged. There were reports of a child being injured, but these were not confirmed.

Occupiers also targeted Ivano-Frankivsk with drones, aiming at civilian infrastructure. As a result of the attack, a critical infrastructure facility was damaged, and part of the city lost power.

Late on September 25, Russians bombed Zaporizhzhia, damaging residential buildings. Seven people were injured.
