Shelling of Kharkiv
Since the first hour of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian troops have been shelling Kharkiv. Since then, the city has been shelled almost daily by Russian troops.
During this time, Kharkiv became one of the cities most affected by the war. Many residential buildings, schools, hospitals, and other civilian facilities have been destroyed or damaged.
For example, on May 5, 2024, the Russians launched an air strike on the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. The shelling damaged residential buildings, private buildings, and cars, and injured 16 people.
