Russians strike Kharkiv: Attack on residential buildings leaves wounded
Russian forces shelled the center of Kharkiv on Easter, May 5th. There are casualties, according to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, and the mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, on Telegram.
"The occupiers struck the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. According to preliminary information, there are casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure," Syniehubov said.
According to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, the strike occurred in a residential area.
"We have preliminary information about two injured persons. Emergency services are continuing their assessment," he noted.
Number of casualties rises
Later, Terekhov reported that the number of injured had increased from 2 to 5 people.
"The number of casualties is increasing. Currently, there are already five of them," he said.
According to Syniehubov, the enemy struck with artillery in the central part of Kharkiv.
Direct hits on private residence
Following the shelling of downtown Kharkiv, there have also been direct hits on a private residence.
"Two casualties (total of 7 casualties)," added the city mayor.

Recently, Russian forces have intensified shelling of Kharkiv. They often target energy facilities, shell Kharkiv and the surrounding area with artillery, and constantly put residents and civilian objects under fire.
