Russian troops strike checkpoint in Kharkiv region with drone: Five injured reported

Russian forces attacked a checkpoint in the Kharkiv region yesterday, May 19, using a Molniya drone. National Guard members and police officers were injured, states Petro Tokar, head of Kharkiv regional police, according to the Suspilne broadcast.
"As a result of the attack, two police officers and three National Guard servicemen sustained injuries of varying severity," Tokar said.
He explained that police officers who are caught in the blast wave zone are usually diagnosed with acoubarotrauma. This can involve damage to the central nervous system and malfunction of internal organs.
"They (the injured – ed.) are feeling well and have received first aid. I believe they will return to duty soon and continue supporting their colleagues," Tokar added.
Strikes on the Kharkiv region
Russian forces frequently attack the Kharkiv region using drones and other weapons.
In particular, on May 1, the Russian army launched several Molniya drones at Kharkiv.
The Molniya is a kamikaze-style drone with a simple design and low cost, allowing Russia to deploy it massively for strikes on various targets.
