Russian troops focus on aerial reconnaissance, artillery shelling in southern direction
In southern Ukraine, the counter-battery fight continues. The enemy hasn't initiated assault actions for the second day in a row, according to the Southern Defense Forces.
"We observe deep contemplation from the enemy. For the past two days, there have been no assault actions. Speaking of the overall statistics of the last combat day, over 50 occupiers have been eliminated, with about 40 particularly around Krynky. The enemy even admits in their online channels that the fortifications on the right bank (of Dnipro River - ed.) are powerful, fortified, and they have no chance of advancing there," said Natalia Humeniuk, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.
According to the Southern Defense Forces, the enemy is currently focusing efforts on conducting aerial reconnaissance, artillery shelling, and employing a large number of various types of attack drones.
Humeniuk adds that the enemy's logistics are complicated as the military continues to expand the sector of its influence.
"We talked about the necessity of clearing the strip within 20-30 kilometers to ease the life of the right bank so that enemy artillery couldn't reach there. Minus 10 enemy artillery systems over the past day, we continue to push them back. But it must be acknowledged - they have a powerful resource for replenishing these positions, so we still have a lot of work ahead," added the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.
Frontline situation
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there were 73 combat clashes during the past day. The enemy reduced the intensity of assault actions in the Avdiivka and Novopavlivka directions in the Donetsk region.
As analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported, positional battles continue on most fronts. Ukrainian soldiers held the enemy in the Krynky area, while the enemy advanced to the west of Avdiivka and the west of Kreminna.
