Russia strikes Kyiv region: Infrastructure and residential buildings damaged
At night and in the morning of Monday, August 26, Russia is striking the Kyiv region with missiles and drones. The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Ruslan Kravchenko, reported damage to infrastructure and private homes.
There is a wounded person who was taken to one of the district medical institutions.
Damage to private houses was recorded in 4 districts of the region as a result of the falling debris of downed Russian targets.
On the order of Ukrenergo, emergency power cuts were introduced in the Kyiv region.
"I have instructed districts and communities to promptly launch the operation of the Unbreakability Points so that people have a place to recharge their phones," he adds.
All operational services are reportedly working at the scenes.
Russian massive shelling of Ukraine on August 26
Today, the Russians launched a massive attack with attack drones and cruise missiles on Ukraine. Energy facilities came under attack. As a result, emergency blackouts were introduced in Kyiv and other regions. Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko says that the situation is currently difficult and the consequences of the attacks are being clarified.
Water supply was also temporarily suspended in many districts of the capital. It was also cut off in Zhytomyr.
Earlier, Ukrainian Railways reported that trains were without power, which may cause delays.
