What Russia used to attack
According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russians had been launching groups of drones toward Ukraine since the evening of March 6. With the start of the new day, they continued entering Ukrainian airspace.
At approximately 01:35 to 02:35, Russians launched several volleys of ballistic missiles. Most of the targets were heading toward Kyiv, but Kharkiv suffered the most damage from the strikes. Monitoring channels suggested that Zircon missiles could have been launched from Crimea, but the exact type of missiles used is still unknown.
Closer to midnight, the enemy also deployed carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles into the Black Sea. After the ballistic strikes, they launched Kalibr missiles twice.
All about the consequences of the shelling
Ukraine's railway infrastructure damaged
The state railway company Ukrzaliznytsia reported that due to the massive Russian attack and "damage to railway infrastructure," several trains in the Rivne, Vinnytsia and Zhytomyr regions were forced to change their routes.
"This means delays on the way, which can be tracked on uz-vezemo. Backup diesel locomotives have already been deployed on all de-energized sections. Inspection and repair of the infrastructure have also begun," the statement said.
At the same time, Ukrzaliznytsia added that its monitoring teams managed to protect dozens of passenger trains from more than a hundred drones and missiles.
Kyiv
Ballistic missiles were launched toward Kyiv at least three times during the night, while drones were also detected on the outskirts of the city. According to a post by Mayor Vitalii Klitschko, the consequences were recorded in three districts:
Holosiivskyi district — debris fall caused smoke and a fire on the territory of a non-residential building area. The fire was extinguished.
Desnianskyi district — missile debris was found on the road. No fire or casualties.
Dniprovskyi district — debris was discovered at three locations, with no fires or casualties.
Kharkiv
At the same time as the strikes on Kyiv, Russian ballistic missiles were heading toward Kharkiv. City authorities almost immediately reported that a missile directly hit a five-story residential building in the Kyivskyi district.
"As a result of the enemy strike, the entrance section of a five-story residential building in Kharkiv's Kyivskyi district was essentially destroyed. A nearby building was also damaged," said the head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.
In addition, Mayor Ihor Terekhov wrote that one Shahed drone strike was recorded in both the Kyivskyi and Osnovianskyi districts. In the second location, the drone hit an industrial area.

Shelling of Ukraine
It should be noted that despite the winter having passed, Russians continue to attack Ukraine with drones and missiles. Even when temperatures rose at the end of winter, the enemy still carried out strikes on the country. One of the latest attacks took place on February 26.
At that time, strikes with drones and various types of missiles mainly affected Kyiv, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia, among other areas. In particular, many residential buildings and shopping centers were damaged, and garages caught fire.
More details about that attack can be found in the RBC-Ukraine report.
