Russian strikes hit 10 regions across Ukraine, leaving people dead and injured

Russian forces continued carrying out targeted attacks on Ukraine overnight and during the day. The consequences have been reported in at least 10 regions, with people killed and injured.

RBC-Ukraine has compiled everything known so far about the large-scale Russian attack.

Zaporizhzhia region

Overnight, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with strike drones and a first-person-view drone. The strikes hit civilian infrastructure in the city, said Mykhailo Semikin, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

A shopping center was destroyed, while an academic building of a higher education institution and several apartment buildings were damaged. Cars parked near the strike sites were damaged by the blast wave.

As of 7:30 a.m., six people were known to have been injured, and the information is still being updated. A criminal investigation into a war crime has been opened over the attack, the regional prosecutor's office said.

Kharkiv region

Overnight, Russian forces attacked the city of Lozova with strike drones. Residential buildings and railway infrastructure were damaged and partially destroyed, according to the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.

A woman was killed in the attack, while three other people were injured. One of the fires broke out in a two-story building, where 200 square meters of the roof burned down and apartments on the second floor were also damaged.

Railway infrastructure was damaged.

Rescuers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine rescued a woman and recovered the body of a person killed in the attack from the rubble.

Kirovohrad region

Overnight, Russian forces struck a business in the Kropyvnytskyi district. An injured employee was hospitalized and is receiving the necessary medical care, said Andrii Raikovych, head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration.

Several private homes were also damaged. Rescuers have already extinguished the fire that broke out at the strike site.

Odesa region: Supermarket warehouses catch fire

Warehouse facilities belonging to a grocery supermarket chain that Russian forces had previously attacked were hit, said Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

There were no injuries or deaths. The threat of further airstrikes hampered firefighting efforts, so more than 80 specialists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine were deployed to the scene.

Kyiv region: 34 sites damaged

Russian forces attacked the Kyiv region with strike drones for almost an entire day, with the air raid alert remaining in effect nearly continuously across the region.

Over the course of the day, 34 sites were damaged, including private homes, warehouses and production facilities, a dormitory, administrative buildings, vehicle service stations, gas stations, a farm and vehicles.

Fastiv district – 12 sites;
Bucha district – 11 sites;
Vyshhorod district – 5 sites;
Boryspil district – 3 sites;
Obukhiv district – 3 sites.

No one was killed in the Kyiv region. Emergency services continue to document the damage and deal with the aftermath of the attack, said Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

In Sloviansk, in the Kramatorsk district, apartment buildings, a store and two cars were damaged. In Kramatorsk itself, one person was killed, and ten others were injured.

People were also killed in Mykilske and Serhiivka, where a tractor, a car and an agricultural business were damaged. In Novodonetske, nine apartment buildings and two administrative buildings were damaged, while two people were injured in Druzhkivka, said Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.

Zelenskyy's response to the large-scale attack on Ukraine

"A vicious, deliberate Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia began last evening. Nine-story residential buildings, a university facility, a shopping mall, and a boiler house were damaged," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote.

He noted that Russian forces struck ten regions of Ukraine in total during the evening and overnight.

"Russia is not backing down from its escalation and is sending many signals that it is ready to expand the war," the president added.

That same night, Russian forces attacked Ukraine from eight directions. A total of 172 strike drones were in the air, including 64 jet-powered drones.

Ukrainian air defenses shot down or suppressed 147 targets, although direct hits were recorded at several locations.

Russia is also expanding the Alabuga-Volokno plant in Tatarstan, which produces carbon fiber for the bodies of kamikaze drones.

Experts estimate that the expansion will allow the Kremlin to produce approximately 78% more Shahed attack drones annually.
